Bouquet of flowers featuring the First Frost Bundle by Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am indulging my love of the First Frost Bundle and DSP creating this beautiful bouquet for a very special Wedding Card. This technique could be used in so many colour combinations for just about any occasion - the only limit is your imagination!

Using the First Frost set on Whisper White cardstock, stamp as follows:
  • 3 large roses in Berry Burst ink
  • 1 small rose in Berry Burst ink
  • 2 "buds" in Merry Merlot ink
  • 2 leaf lines in Old Olive ink
  • 2 leafy sprigs in Mossy Meadow ink
and cut:
  • 2 bud sprays from Mossy Meadow cardstock
  • 2 leafy branches from Mossy Meadow cardstock

As a base for your bouquet cut a small circle (about 2 inches in diameter) and cover with double sided tape (here I've used a wide tape purchased from my local craft store).

Remove backing to reveal sticky surface and start positioning your leafy images to form background. Layer with more double sided tape as you cover the previous layer.

Add your roses on top of leafy background. Layer some leaves between flowers to add interest to design. Here I have mounted the top rose and one of the buds on foam squares to add extra dimension and painted all blooms with a Wink of Stella for a touch of bling.

Add a small bow to the stem of your bouquet using the wonderfully versatile SU Glue Dots.

The rest of this card is fairly straight forward. Whisper White cardstock cut to 5.5 inches by 11 inches and folded in half to create a 5.5 inch square base card. A panel of Whisper White cut to 5.25 inches square run thru your favourite embossing folder (here I use a leaf themed one) and a 5.25 inch by 2 inch panel of Frosted Floral DSP.

Change the colours and cardstock used for your leaves and blooms and this beautiful bouquet can be used on any card.

Watch this video of me making one of these beautiful cards.

Reverse gate fold card featuring the Holly Jolly Christmas Bundle from Stampin Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I feature a reverse gate fold card using the adorable Holly Jolly Christmas Bundle and Night Before Christmas designer series paper. I like the reverse gate fold card as it highlights the central panel allowing the image to really pop out when on display. With normal orientation gate cards the central image is hidden behind the folds. The Holly Jolly Christmas Bundle is wonderful. Santa has so much personality and the other image match perfectly. Z-fold card featuring Wonderful Romance Bundle from Stampin Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I feature the beautiful Wonderful Romance Bundle with a lovely z-fold card in Petal Pink. To make this card cut a piece of Petal Pink cardstock 11 5/8" x 6". Score at 3 7/8" and 7 3/4" along the long edge. Mark one 6" edge at 3 1/2" and cut from the opposite top corner to this mark to create angle. See diagram below: Using a lead pencil draw a light line 1 5/8" from angle. This will be your guide for die cutting the decorative edge. Using the guide line run the leaf edge die thru your Bigshot, starting at narrow edge. Carefully align the beginning of the die with the end of the previous cut to avoid doubling up. Remove the small cut outs. Card should look like this. Cut 3 pieces of matching paper measuring 3 3/4" wide and as high as the highest point of each of the three panels of your card. Here my three panels are 2 5/8" x 3 3/4", 3 1/2" x 3 3/4" and 4 1/4...
